Microsoft 365 GCC High Tenant Migration

Moving from commercial Microsoft 365 to GCC High is a major cloud transformation for organizations supporting federal contracts. The migration must address users, identity, applications, data, security and business continuity.

The Challenge

The client needed to transition its Microsoft 365 environment to GCC High while supporting federal contracting and compliance requirements.

Migration Planning

We assessed users, groups, mail, data, applications, authentication and administrative dependencies, then developed a migration approach designed to minimize disruption.

Identity and Security

Identity architecture was central to the project. Microsoft Entra ID, authentication, administrative access and security policies were considered as part of the new environment.

Data and Workloads

Migration activities addressed Microsoft 365 workloads and data while accounting for configuration differences, security requirements, validation and user communications.

Compliance Alignment

The cloud environment was treated as part of the broader compliance boundary rather than as an isolated IT migration. See CMMC compliance.

Outcome

The project established a GCC High environment aligned to the client’s federal contracting objectives and created a structured foundation for ongoing administration.
